Site Assessment

Will velvet texture suit my wall?
Almost certainly, as long as the wall is sound and dry. Velvet texture goes over properly prepared plaster, cement plaster, gypsum board and existing painted walls — the surface simply needs to be free of damp, loose paint and unrepaired cracks.
Where it is not the right choice is anywhere that gets wet or scrubbed: bathrooms, shower walls, kitchen splashbacks and low-level corridor walls in busy commercial spaces. If that is what you have in mind we will tell you at the site visit and suggest a finish that belongs there instead.
What colours can I have?
Pigments are mixed to order, so you are not choosing from a fixed chart. The range that suits the finish best runs from pale champagne, oyster and pearl through warm sand, greige and taupe to deep charcoal and near-black.
Bring a paint chip, a cushion, a piece of your flooring or even a photo of a room you liked, and we will match to it on a sample board. Darker and mid tones show the velvet effect more strongly; very pale shades give a subtler, quieter result.
How do I clean and look after it?
Day to day it needs nothing beyond dusting with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush attachment on the vacuum, always working in the direction of the grain.
For a mark, dab gently with a barely damp cloth and let it dry — do not scrub, and do not use bleach, thinner or abrasive pads, which will flatten the sheen in that patch. Because it is applied rather than printed, a damaged area can be re-coated in place without redoing the whole wall.
How long does the application take?
For a single feature wall, plan on two to three working days: preparation and priming, then the texture layers with drying time between each one. Larger rooms or several walls take proportionally longer.
